URP stands for Ultimate Rotation Project. The name came from the message board at 123stitch when I jokingly made a post about kitting up all the patterns I wanted to stitch and putting at least one stitch in each of them so that they became WIPs (WIP = Work In Progress) instead of just lonely patterns.
Somehow this turned into a challenge (from myself to myself) so now I'm in the process of kitting up everything, more or less in random order. I had tried to make a schedule in which I'd stitch on certain topics on certain days (Patriotic themes, Pagan themes, Fantasy themes, Ocean themes, etc) but that got kind of unwieldy so I think I'll just stitch whatever strikes my fancy at any given time. Besides, I think I have more themes than I do days in the month. *L*
My goal is to have everything ready to start stitching by January 1st, but I'm not sure that's too realistic.
Of course, thinking that I can stitch everything I own in my lifetime is rather unrealistic too, but at least if they're kitted up and in process it has a better chance of happening than if the patterns just sit around in files.
Anyhow, I have been working on it. I've been buying floss but have been rather lax in getting it put away, so today I spent some time today doing just that, and have managed to get a few bags emptied out.
Once it's all put with the patterns, I'll double check each one to make sure I have everything I need. (I don't know why, but I just can't seem to start a project without having everything in order.)
